This Past Weekend in Florida
Mon., Mar. 5. 2007 1:49am EST

See you later, alligators. We're finished with Florida for now, but we sure enjoyed training for spring this past weekend in Bradenton (Friday), Port St. Lucie (Saturday), and Sebastian (Sunday).

We did get a little antsy midway through the trip, though, when our keyboardist, Bill "Wild Thing" Hubauer, stepped on what appeared to be a fire-ant colony at a rest stop on the way to Port St. Lucie. Thankfully, he shook them off his shoes before the bugs began biting.

Our drummer, Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner, had Tanner Nation's entire royal family on hand for all three concerts -- his wife, Eve; daughter, Julie (who celebrated her 16th birthday on Friday); son, Jimmy; parents, Jim and Jan; and mother-in-law, Fran. Eve even drove the ApologetiX van and trailer the whole way from Pittsburgh to Florida and back.

There were a few other long-distance voyagers in attendance -- two old friends who've already seen us in a few states -- Renee Armstrong from Ohio, who came to see us in Bradenton, and LaFon Jenkins from Michigan, who came to see us in Sebastian. Not only that, a contingent from Quebec, Canada, came to our show in Port St. Lucie.

A number of fans elected to see us at more than one of the weekend's concerts, including the Wylands:

We saw you in Port St. Lucie tonight. You guys were awesome! And we loved that you played a lot of songs from "Wordplay" - we think it's your best album yet. See you tomorrow night in Sebastian!

Love,
Diane & Jeremy Wyland
Vero Beach FL

Special thanks to:

Our concert coordinators: Jimmy Doyle (Bradenton); Jeff Steffel with big help from Chuck and Nick (Port St. Lucie); and Cameron Mays (Sebastian).

Our merchandise coordinators: Paula and Tim (Bradenton); Eve and Julie (Bradenton and Sebastian), Elise, Molly and Tanya (Port St. Lucie); and Fran, Joe, and Wendy (Sebastian).

Our opening acts: Among the Thirsty (Bradenton); Clayton Smith (Port St. Lucie), and ApologetiX (Sebastian). After all, we were the opening act in Sebastian. Tobymac was the main act.

Our sound man: Micah (Bradenton and Port St. Lucie).
