This Past Weekend in NY, NJ & PA
Mon., Nov. 19. 2007 2:29pm EST
There may have been 1001 Arabian Nights, but we only had time for one Moravian Night this past weekend. After playing in Moravia NY on Friday night, we played Chatham NJ on Saturday night, and Downingtown PA on Sunday night.
Here's a nice note from Mike Miller, who promoted the Moravia show:Awesome night in Moravia. Thanks for a great concert. You guys rock! And here's one from a pastor who attended the Moravia show and now wants us to play his church:Thanks for the concert in Moravia. I know my youth kids were the wild ones (most of those up there for "Heavenly Hill" were mine along with the ones running around the auditorium, myself included!) and we loved it! I would love to host a concert. Here's another from Allen Puy, who coordinated our concert in Downingtown PA:I really appreciate how straightforward you really made this for all of us. Your model for the concerts was so agreeable as to make it an easy sell to our youth council, trustees, finance committee, and everyone we approached about the show.
Your network of volunteers helped to make the load-in and-out very simple. Your expectations at the church were extremely simple. And you helped us to prove that a more rock-oriented, youth-oriented show in our Family Life Center (gym) could actually work!
I trust that we cannot tally the outcomes of what went on tonight, at least on this side of heaven. But it's clear that the kingdom of God on this earth was a bit more joyous, raucous, and even multigenerational because of the show.
Please pass our deepest thanks to the gents in the band and crew for a great evening and great ministry. And here's another note from a former concert promoter in Maryland who drove to Downingtown PA to see Sunday's show:Man, that was one awesome concert last night! The on-stage antics between (and during the) songs was the best and funniest, I've seen yet. We saw you twice in 2006 and now six times in 2007. So, I told Pam that if we continue the pattern, then we'd be seeing you 18 times in 2008. Well, that probably won't be possible, but we're looking forward to seeing you next year as often as we can!
