This Past Weekend in IL & AR
Mon., Jun. 20. 2011 12:03pm EDT
Elvis may be king at this coming weekend's concert destinations (Tennessee and Mississippi), but the beetles were bigger at one of this past weekend's venues.
We played in Robinson IL and Conway AR. You thought the Beatles were big in the 1960's? You should have seen how big the beetles were in the church rear parking lot after our show in Arkansas!
It was creepy enough to see how fast they walked around, but then one of them took off like the beetle on the front of Journey's Escape album! At least there were no tarantulas this time around.
Speaking of journeys, we drove 950-plus miles through the night after the Conway concert to try to get back for part of Father's Day. We blew a trailer tire in Cross Plains TN Sunday morning, about 550 miles from home. Thankfully, we did have a spare, so it only set us back about half an hour.
The new trailer that we ordered quite some time ago finally came in while we were away, but there are some electrical issues we still have to figure out in converting power from 24 volts (bus) to 12 volts (trailer) before we can take it on the road.
Here's an email excerpt from a fan who made a 250-mile road trip to Saturday's concert:Tell everyone thank you from me and my little group from Texas. The two young boys I brought with me really liked the concert and their father as well. As always y'all brought it all together as you should. Hope to see y'all again real soon.
