We're in a Not-So-Terrible Van

To ensure that we make it to our concerts over the next three weeks, we have rented a 15-passenger van like the one we traveled in before we got the bus in June 2007.
Well, there is one big difference: This rental van is relatively new, whereas our old van had over 330,000 miles on it when we finally put it out to pasture. That would take you to the moon and almost halfway back!
Then again, our bus has enough miles to on it to make it to the moon and back twice and then return to the moon a third time, as long as we left the bus there. The way things are going, we might as well.
The good news is that this rental van will enable us to finally bring the new trailer we purchased this past spring, thanks to your generous contributions. We had been unable to use it until now, because the electric issues with the bus could have done damage to it. In fact, that's why we took the bus into the shop (which turned out to be a little shop of horrors for us) in the first place.
The new trailer has more space than the old one, so it can even hold the parts of the sound system that previously had to be stored in the cargo bays of our bus. It also has lights that work consistently; the bus electric system wreaked havoc with our old trailer's lights.
So, you lose some, you win some.
