Baby Bus vs. Big Old Bus

Three weeks ago, we gave you the great news that we'd paid off our new bus. Later the same day we got socked with a $900-repair bill.
Earlier this week, Keith discovered that the rotors and brake pads needed replaced on two of the wheels. Thankfully, Keith was able to do the installation himself, so our only cost was a couple hundred dollars in parts.
Next, we have to fix the air conditioning. Our driver Rich Polick calls our new vehicle "the baby bus," and babies need a lot of attention sometimes.
But that's all nothing compared to what we faced a year ago at this time; we were in the midst of four straight weeks of cancelled concerts (eight concerts in all), primarily due to problems with our old bus.
However, that unexpected time off enabled J. to rest his very strained voice and to record all of the vocals for Wise Up and Rock, except for the medley, which was recorded two months later -- two days after another cancelled concert when the rental van needed repairs.
And look at the end result: God took care of our expenses through that time and He enabled us to put out our best CD to date.
It's always good to look back to remind ourselves of what God has done. It helps give us confidence that He will continue to provide for us, as He has promised.
