We all know ApologetiX is fun for the whole family, but check this out:
APX producer and alumni keyboardist Bill Hubauer's daughter, Sarah, plays a saxophone solo on our next CD, Easter Standard Time. Like her dad, Sarah is a multi-instrumentalist. Last week, Bill said, she "got first-chair contra clarinet in regional band and is going to states!"
Sarah's reputation for musical excellence and versatility is spreading. APX alumnus drummer Bob Flaherty says, "I was talking to a guy this summer who had been working in Clarion and was talking about a girl in his youth group named Sarah who was a 'phenom on the piano.' He said her dad was a pro musician. I put two and two together -- had no idea she plays clarinet as well."
Bill "Moose" Rieger's son, Jake, plays bass on a number of tracks on Easter Standard Time, and J. Jackson's oldest daughter, Janna, sings lead on one track and background vocals on another. His second-oldest daughter, Heather, helped sing backing vocals on three tracks last year.
Keith Haynie's daughters, Sarah and Abby, have also sung on recent ApologetiX recordings, and so have Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner's daughter, Julie, and son-in-law, Ben.
