Sharing ApX (and the Gospel) on the Job in Oregon
Wed., Jan. 25. 2017 8:13pm EST
We've heard that they're open to a lot of unusual things in Oregon, but we were still amazed to hear this:Hey guys, an amazing thing happened at work recently. We have a communal stereo and I asked my senior co-worker (who knows that I'm a Christian and listen to Christian music exclusively) if I could put some music on the stereo.
Normally he is very closed minded about things of a religious nature, but he said "Go ahead". So I put my iPod on ApologetiX and set it to shuffle. We listened to you guys for three nights in a row! I think he's starting to open up to the Gospel!
Then another co-worker who's not normally in our work area heard some of the songs and was confused by the different lyrics, asked me about the songs and when I explained about the ministry of ApologetiX, became an instant fan! She is already a believer and is now looking to get some ApologetiX for herself!
The first co-worker I mentioned was especially impressed with the Steely Dan parodies. I have all your songs already and am adding in the new parodies as you release them. When I load them into iTunes, I change the year of the parody to the year the original song came out and then organize them chronologically. My co-worker mostly likes classic rock (late 60's-early 80's) so that's what I play at work.
So as long as you guys keep cranking them out, I'll keep adding them and sharing them with anyone willing to listen! Keep up the good work guys, I love your ministry!
Jerry Moore
Eugene OR Editor's Note: Careful with that ApX, Eugene. Sorry, that's a joke only a classic rock fan could appreciate … and only if they know their Pink Floyd.
