An Edifying Email from a Delaware DJ
Fri., Jun. 9. 2017 12:27pm EDT
In this age of junk-mail overload, nobody likes unsolicited letters. But this unsolicited letter we received on Monday was anything but junk. It's a precious letter of encouragement from a DJ in Delaware:I have never written one of those "fan letters" per se, but felt the time was write. Right. Ripe. Knowudduhmean?
I can't remember when I first discovered ApologetiX, but I do recall buying and enjoying a few of your early CD's. (It may have been the CD Club I joined way back when CD's were still a thing.) At that time I was being convicted that as a secular Mobile Disc Jockey, a lot of the music I was playing was not a good reflection on my newly rediscovered faith.
Fast forward to 2017. I have been an on-air radio personality for Contemporary Christian Music and kept finding the quality of the music to be — well -- mundane. The longer I was in Christian Radio, the more I was going back to the music of my youth and my old favorite bands. Then I had the opportunity to rekindle my love for ApologetiX music by having the band come to my church --twice.
Now, the quality of music and the sheer massive selection means I no longer have to compromise my faith in music listening. I can hear the most-excellent high-quality and interesting music I remember with redeemed lyrics. And that's pretty cool, because if the Lord can redeem ME, He can surely use ApologetiX to redeem the music! (I'm certain I'm a tougher case.)
Seriously, though, as a true lover of music I can say without an ounce of doubt that the recordings ApologetiX have been putting out over the last few years have been musically and audibly every bit as good as the original impresarios. The playing is spot-on, the singing is done with the same passion as the originals, the sound mix is so amazingly close to the original, I am transported musically while being transformed lyrically.
The band, ApologetiX must go on. Please support this band. Send $2 a month, $20 a month, or anything you can afford! Pray about it, talk about it, then do it! There are at least another 20,327 songs I hope they cover before I leave these earthly shackles!
