"Bethlehemian Rhapsody" Chorus & Orchestra

When we first conceived the idea for "Bethlehemian Rhapsody" way back in 1992, we had the dream of putting a chorus on stage to perform it. Two of our fans in New York, Miriam Nelson and her dad, David, finally decided to make that dream a reality a this past spring. Dig this email Miriam sent us:
"I just wanted you to know that you and your band's music really has affect on people! I am a junior in high school and I go to a Christian school (Lima Christian School). My dad is the chorus teacher there as well as being a Spanish teacher, Bible teacher, and school chaplin. We were listening to your 'New and Used Hits' CD when my dad and I had an idea.
"We decided to get the chorus to learn the parody 'Bethlehemian Rhapsody'! I have always enjoyed listening to the original 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which is expected from me, being a rock and roll lover. Our chorus has already learned it and we have even gotten musicians for all of the instrumental pieces of the song.
"We are going to be performing this song (among many others) at a local event called the Lilac Festival, which is an outdoor, city-wide, week-long
festival in Rochester, NY. We will also be performing it at our Spring concert more towards the end of the year.
"I just wanted to say thank-you for your inspiration by simply using the talents that God has given you! We are all very excited about the performance of 'Bethlehemian Rhapsody' and we hope that God uses this to jerk some people's hearts in our area!"
Now, here's her follow-up, which we just received:
"Yes, we actually did get to perform 'Bethlehemian
Rhapsody' at the Lilac Festival and everyone loved it!! They even demanded an encore so we did it twice! It was a lot of fun.
We also performed the song at our own school's spring concert. We also had two young men from our chorus act out the David and Goliath scene as they were singing the solos, which everyone loved!
"Next year, our men's quartet is actually planning on learning and performing 'Baa! We're Lambs,' which will be fun for everyone!"
