J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.
Thank you all for the sympathy you extended to me and to my family after the recent death of my oldest sister, Jeannine. Not only did I receive hundreds of e-mails, I also was met with personal condolences at virtually every concert on our nine-stop tour. Thank you.
My sister's husband (for 25 years) and four kids (ages 22-12) were amazingly strong, as were my mom and dad. I got to give one of the three eulogies. After the funeral, two of my sister's friends from her old church in Atlanta (she was very involved there) told me, "Your sister was so proud of you and supportive of your ministry. She told us that if she ever came into a lot of money, she wanted to give it all to you for the band so you'd never have to worry about money again." I had known that Jeannine was supportive of the band, but I never realized that she had felt that way, so it was very touching.
Thank you for sympathy and prayers. Please pray for strength for my sister's family and my mom and dad.

CD UPDATE
Well, we know we told you our new CD, "Grace Period," was scheduled to hit stores August 1, but we're running a little bit behind, and now we need to ask YOU for a grace period. The recording of the CD is complete and it was being mastered today. The duplication process will take a little bit of time, though, so it would really take a miracle for it to be out August 1.
We are making every effort to get the CD out as close to the original deadline as possible. I can attest to you that Karl Messner, our producer and guitarist, worked day and night virtually every moment (aside from when we were doing concerts) for the past several months to get the CD out on time. This CD took longer than any of our previous CDs to produce; we poured more man hours into this one than ever before, including the vocals.
Unfortunately, we came up about one day short in the mixdown process, and that only became apparent the day before we left for a nine-day tour of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois and Michigan. We stayed until the last possible moment before hitting the road and barely made it to our first concert (at Minnesota's Sonshine festival) on time.
It's great to have our guitarist be our producer, but unfortunately, that meant while we toured, he couldn't finish the mixdown of the CD. It was something that simply couldn't be done by somebody else, and there was absolutely no way to even fly him back and forth (We had no days off between concerts and the tour took us a total of 6,000 miles cross country via van.) As soon as we got home Monday morning, Karl was back in the studio and didn't stop (or sleep) until the project was finished.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We'll keep you posted and let you know as soon as its ready.
Unfortunately, with all of the stuff going on around here (funeral, touring, the new baby, new CD, new computer, etc.), I haven't had time to write out more clues for you. In fact, I was starting to think about going to bed when I realized that I needed to send a newsletter out, and here I am.
