Fan Finishes Bible With a Chapter a Day

You say you don't have enough time to read the Bible? Recently, a teen fan of ours named Janessa finished it by reading just a chapter a day for three years. Why, it took George Lucas 28 years to finish the Star Wars saga!
Wow! I'm done with reading the whole Bible. A chapter a day for how long? Well, let's see. I started August 10, 2002- the day of my second ever ApologetiX concert. Afterwards, two of my friends and I stayed around to chat with the band. That's when Karl told us about reading buddy. We all agreed to do it, and went home that night and read John 1 together.
Since then, I have read one chapter a night- every night. I'm not going to lie- sometimes I would feel bogged down by it, especially within the Old Testament. But a simple prayer of "God, what do you want me to learn from this?" would always cure that. So now I'm done... 3 years, 1 month, and 26 days from when I started, I finished.
But I could not stop now, even if I wanted to. By reading each night, God has created a thirst within me. If I try to sleep each night before I read, I will find myself awake for quite a while, and it always ends with me reading- no matter how late it is.
I was 14 years old when I started this- if God can help me do it, anyone can!!! Thanks Karl, for getting me started, and for always being there for me along the way. You are awesome!!! Keep living for our Abba, giving Him praise, even on the days when it seems hard to. I love ya tons, but He loves you even more!!
~Jenessa
Karl's readingbuddy program has kids start in John, read one chapter a day, write the chapter and the date in the back of their Bible each day in tiny print, then send a blank email to readingbuddy@apologetix.com with the chapter in the subject. After you get a couple books under your belt without skipping, kick it up to three chapters a day. A Bible chapter is usually just a page or two.
