Devil Went Down to Nashville? (Chris Cagle Connection)

One of the staples of our live show, and one of our favorite songs to play, is "Devil Went Down to Jordan." We wrote the parody back in the mid-1990's, but we couldn't record it, because, well, none of us could play the fiddle!
All that changed when we met John Parrendo. John had actually played that song on the fiddle with Charlie Daniels live on tour and he graciously agreed to sit in with us and let us bring that song to life. John was a dream to work with. He did two takes and it was done.
John is the best violinist we've ever recorded with. Our keyboardist, Bill Hubauer, who plays it in concert with us now, doesn't count; we've never recorded his violin work ... although that will change on our upcoming CD.
John has played in a number of country bands including national touring artists, Blackhawk. Last week, we found out that John is now touring with a new country artist–none other than country chart-topper, Chris Cagle.
Chris has a great guy in John, we were overwhelmed by his playing and really charmed by his great down -to-earth personality.
God bless you, John!
