Build the bus

Thursday, May 3rd, Kevin “Goose” Gushlaw brought the new bus home. He got in at 8:30ish and we still got a half-day’s work in on it that night before leaving early in the AM for the weekend concerts. You may not have known, but lead is an excellent sound barrier. They use it in the walls of studios and THX theaters. Our bus buddy suggested putting 3/16th sheet lead down in the back (over the drive train) then sheet rock, then plywood, THEN finished floor.
Installing the sheet lead
Wide duct tape around corners to vapor seal
Sheet lead comes in 30x30. overlapped 1/2”, running up the wall a foot
We’ll do the back booth seat once we’re done.
The lead overlaps with no seam at the corer (for vapor sea)
Contact Cement
Hammer out the wrinkles
Work area
overlapped lead, staggered sheetrock and then plywood.
