This song is based on an important Messianic prophecy from Micah 5:2, "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times." I got the lines for the chorus on a personal trip back from Kentucky in the spring of 2000, and I thought it was a shame I couldn't do something with it. When we decided to the Christmas EP, I finished this up for that. I know I got some of the last parts for it on a trip to Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh to pick up something we'd forgotten there. It's still one of my favorite ApologetiX songs. Bill Hubauer sampled one or two of his kids for some of the noises in this song.
