ApologetiX New CD Update Plus Wisconsin Weekend

1. NEW APOLOGETIX CD IN YOUR STORE SOME TIME THIS WEEK

Last week, we told you that we had moved back the release date for our new CD, "Keep the Change," to Tuesday, October 9, and we asked you to pray that we would get the CDs back in time from the manufacturer.

Here's what happened: Our manufacturer was able to get us partial shipments, last Wednesday (a small shipment), Friday, and Monday, with the balance to be shipped to us Tuesday, October 9. The good news is that we were able to send some of the CDs out to the stores on Wednesday and Friday, and we filled all the rest of the store orders today. The bad news is that Columbus Day was a day off for the U.S. Postal Service, so, although we shipped to the stores via Priority Mail, the massive mailing we made on Friday may not reach some of the stores until Tuesday, October 9, in the afternoon, or Wednesday, October 10. And the balance of the orders which we filled Monday, October 8 can't be sent Priority Mail till Tuesday, October 9, so they won't reach stores until Thursday or Friday.

The bottom line: Your local store may already have "Keep the Change" (if it was part of the CDs we shipped last Wednesday or Friday), but if they don't, they should have it by this Friday, if they ordered it directly from Wesscott Marketing. About 400 different stores ordered from Wesscott. Many others ordered through the distributors. If your store ordered through New Day, Spring Arbor, Riverside, Central South or Anchor, they probably won't have it until later this week or next week, because they'll have to wait for the distributor to ship it to them. All of our CDs are now available in the Christian music section of Best Buy stores across the country (I check to make sure when we're in various states, and they're out there), but they probably won't have Keep the Change for a couple weeks. I shipped the CDs to Christian Book Distributors (CBD) at christianbook.com today, and they'll receive them on Wednesday, so they should have them in stock soon, too.

Once again, we apologize for the delay, but we think you'll find it was worth the wait! We are getting lots of response from radio and others who have heard the new CD saying this is our best CD ever! Please do us a favor and tell your local Christian bookstore manager and music buyer that we greatly appreciate their patience and that you appreciate the fact that they are stocking "Keep the Change." Thanks!

2. APOLOGETIX IN WISCONSIN THIS WEEKEND

We are playing in two places in Wisconsin this weekend, and they are about three hours apart. God has granted us so many friends and favor with the folks in Wisconsin ... although I guess it's not surprising, since there are some folks out there who think what we do is very cheesy, and Wisconsin is the land of cheese.

Please note that the Cup O' Joy show Saturday is not at the Cup O' Joy. It's their big anniversary show, which they've been holding annually for about a decade, and it's always held at a bigger venue. We are very honored to be headlining this event! We're looking forward to seeing all our old friends from the Cup, and we'll be doing radio interviews on the Green Bay stations this week to promote

Please also note that the concert promoter for the show on Sunday really is named Ziggy Stardust, and he was born before David Bowie ever sang the classic song "Ziggy Stardust" or put out the famous album, "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars." When we first got the press kit request for Ziegfield Stardust, we assumed it was a joke and almost didn't send it. Thankfully, Karl called the church to double check, just in case. Our Ziggy tells us he was actually named after the famous Ziegfield Follies. Karl says our Ziggy has a sense of humor akin to the famous comedian Rip Taylor (he of the famous sight gags and bright red hair and moustache), as you will note by the starting time of 1:33 p.m. According to Karl, Ziggy says people have trouble remembering start times that are even, but they always remember things like 1:33 p.m.!

4. CONGRATULATIONS TO APOLOGETIX ALUM FRED BEHANNA

Fred Behanna, our drummer from 1999 through January 2001 and our friend forever, has a brand new grandson, William (Will) Carter Glenn. This is Fred's second grandchild. Fred's eldest daughter, Brandy, gave birth to little Will on Sept. 14. He weighed 7 lbs., 15 oz. and was 22 1/4 inches long. Brandy's husband is John Glenn, and although he may be feeling spaced out with all his new responsibilities as a father, he's not THAT John Glenn.

By the way, Fred added some fine percussion work to our new "Keep the Change" CD, so he's on three of our CDs now! For other news on Fred and his family, please see the Prayer Requests below.

5. PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for favor for us with the stores that are receiving "Keep the Change" CDs this week (that they'll be patient and understanding), and that the promo CDs we send will get into the hands of the right people at the radio stations where they are sent. There are many DJs at many stations who tell us they would like to play our music more often but have to comply with certain station set lists, rules and program directors, and limitations regarding independent label music and Christian parodies. Thankfully, we still get an amazing amount of airplay from radio stations nationwide and worldwide. Please pray for favor for us with station managers, program directors and music directors.

Please pray for the family of our friend and former drummer, Fred Behanna, whose 23-year-old nephew, Will, died suddenly this weekend after it was discovered he had the heart of an 80-year-old man. This was totally unexpected and is an enormous loss for Fred's family.

Thank you all for praying for us, encouraging us and being so kind to us!

Apologetically,

J.
