2. "KEEP THE CHANGE" UPDATE

As you probably know by now, our sixth CD, "Keep the Change," is slated for release on September 25. Please pray for us to be able to get it out to the CD duplicators in time to have it ship to stores for that date. The CD contains 19 parodies, including 12 classic rock tunes and seven from the past year or so.

We finally finished the vocals on Thursday night (actually Friday morning at about 4:30 a.m. or so) and Karl is working feverishly to get all his guitar parts done in time for the final mix-down this week. It's ironic that although we have better equipment and technology to work with on this CD, it's actually taking longer. We have capability to do more things than we could before, but those things take extra time. But they'll definitely make this our best-sounding project ever. I'm certain of that!

If you'd like to see a picture of the cover and a listing of the groups we spoofed, check out our ad in the current issues of CCM Magazine (right next to the Table of Contents) and HM Magazine.

I'd like to thank God publicly for miraculously allowing my voice to hold up under the strain of all these concerts and marathon recording sessions. There were times when I didn't know if I'd have a voice left to record, and He came through for me!

Please pray for Karl. We've all been operating on very little sleep, between recording and concerts (sometimes two in one day) and travel.

3. "KEEP THE CHANGE" SONG LIST (CLUES #9, 10 and 11)

As we did with "Spoofernatural," we're giving clues about the songs on "Keep the Change." Here are clues #9, 10 and 11

#9 "Bethlehemian Rhapsody"

Yep, it's the same song we spoofed on "Radical History Tour," and it's still about David and Goliath, but we gave the lyrics a major overhaul (I think only one or two lines survived, but everybody who's heard the new words tells me these are much better) and the vocals, instrumentation and production are much better than the original.

#10 and #11 "The Story of a Squirrel" and "All the Stalls Stink"

If you liked "Not Logs Lincoln" and all the Noah's ark trivia and humor, you'll love these two songs, which are already favorites among the band members. "Story of a Squirrel" is the lead-off track on "Keep the Change," and it gives some facts and figures on the ark and the place where it landed, with plenty of laughs along for the ride. "All the Stalls Stink" is Noah's humorous take on the downside of being cooped up in an ark for a year with a bunch of smelly animals, although it ends with the hopeful line, "We should just chill, trust the Lord still, and life will go on ó I know it will." Both of these songs are spoofs of big hits from the past year or so, and it should be pretty obvious to our younger readers what songs we're spoofing, just by looking at our titles. If you've been out of touch with modern music, you'll never guess what we're spoofing here, whether you had nine days or 182 years to try and figure it out, BUT I do think you'll enjoy the music and the lyrics when the new CD comes out.

5. PRAYER REQUESTS

First of all, some answered prayers!

Thanks for praying for our bass player, Keith Haynie, and his wife, Krista. They did close on their new house, and we actually spent last night helping them move in! Please pray that they figure out what's wrong with their computer, so they can get back on-line again.

Thanks for praying for our former drummer Bob Flaherty (heard on the "Ticked" CD). He was accepted at the college in South Carolina where he has applied to study for the ministry. If you'd like to e-mail Bob, his e-mail is rocknbobby@yahoo.com

Please keep our former drummer (heard on Biblical Graffiti and Spoofernatural) Fred Behanna in your prayers. His mother passed away about 10 days ago. She had been sick for quite a while and lived a long, full life, but Fred had always been very diligent to care for her and was very close to her. Also please keep his daughter Beth Ann in your prayers. She was previously cured of Hodgkin's Disease (the same thing hockey star Mario Lemieux had, a form of cancer that is usually curable), but recently it appears the disease has come back. On top of this, Fred's other daughter, Brandy, is due to give birth any day now. And with all that, Fred is still coming in to the studio in a couple days to record a few extra percussion parts on the new CD! So please pray for Fred. If you'd like to e-mail Fred, please e-mail him at fred@apologetix.com

Please pray for Karl's mother-in-law, Connie, who has been having some health problems in the past week. For more details on that or to send along any encouragement, please e-mail Karl's wife, Debbie at peanutroller@apologetix.com

Thank you all! Talk to you later!

Apologetically,

J.

Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
