This Past Weekend in TN, AR & IN
Mon., Mar. 12. 2007 12:58am EDT
We had such a pleasant experience this past weekend in Murfreesboro TN (Friday), Newark AR (Saturday), and Vincennes IN (Sunday) that we'll be returning to all three of those states within the next six months.
Did Tennessee what Arkansas? We never did find out, but we did learn that Vincennes IN was Indiana's first city and the hometown of comedian Red Skelton. And, of course, we discovered that we have some great friends and fans at all three of the locales we played.
Here's a wonderful post-concert email we received from Wesley Hulvey, who promoted the Newark concert:
I don't know where to begin. You guys rock! The show was awesome. I can't believe you guys were here. It was my dream come true. Certainly it was the miracle that God knew I needed in trusting Him.
I hope you guys enjoyed being here as much as we enjoyed you being here. Everyone wants you to definitely come back--and soon! You guys have been etched in the hearts of the people here forever. I've heard from several that your concert has made a memory that will last a lifetime.
I am still in shock over finally getting to see you guys live for the very first time. I can't wait to see you again. God bless. We love you guys & are praying for you. Thanks for playing Newark.
Special thanks to:
Our other concert coordinators: Erik Hines (Murfreesboro) and Rob Johnson (Vincennes).
Our merchandise coordinators: Lisa and Kayla (Murfreesboro); Tonya, Anissa, Marcy, and Kim (Newark); and Jay, Tammy, Luke, Steven, Ashley, and Heather (Vincennes).
Our opening act: Al "Johnny Cash" Mahan (Murfreesboro).
Honorable mention to: Our good friends Kim Short and her daughter, Kara (a.k.a. "Little Ax'l)," who drove six hours from Illinois to see us in Newark. Unfortunately, they got lost on the way and didn't arrive till the end of the concert. Poor Kim also drove 2.5 hours to the Vincennes show the next day, and was only half an hour late. And both times she helped us pack up. Thanks, Kim!
