ApologetiX Releases Two Volumes of Rarities
Tue., Jul. 24. 2007 12:20pm EDT
We're releasing two collections of old recordings of 40 previously unavailable ApologetiX parodies as online downloads. Now is your chance to listen to what you've been missin'.
The guys in ApologetiX are music buyers just like you. We've all had favorite bands in the past that we couldn't get enough of, and we were always on the lookout for rare, unreleased tracks. We didn't care how primitive or poor the recording quality was.
Anyway, we know that many of you already own all 13 of our CDs yet are still hungry for more stuff. You know that we've written, performed and even recorded many more parodies besides the ones on our CDs (mostly live recordings). And you've begged us to open the vaults.
Well, there's a reason we've never put those songs on CD; it's like looking at old family photos from your awkward years. We don't want them ever to be anybody's first taste of ApologetiX. Nevertheless, there are still some valid reasons we're making them available to you now:
1. Your persistence has finally worn us down.
2. It's our 15th anniversary, and they have historical value.
3. We love the lyrics, but we may never get time to rerecord them.
4. We're using them as a fundraiser as we prepare for our next CD.
We've agreed to release them, but we've decided to only do so as online downloads -- not on an actual CD. We don't plan to make these recordings available in stores or even at concerts. However, because they're mp3 files, that means you can get them right now -- no waiting for the mail. If you want them on CD, you can burn them onto one. And, yes, we have lyric sheets prepared once you've purchased.
