This Past Weekend in NC, SC & VA
Sun., Jan. 20. 2008 11:40pm EST
Despite unusually cold weather for the South, we got a great turnout at each of our stops this past weekend in Wilkesboro NC (Friday); Orangeburg SC (Saturday); and Fredericksburg VA (Sunday).
Here's a sweet email we received from Susannah Godowns, who coordinated the Orangeburg concertJust want to say thank you, thank you, thank you! The concert was wonderful, the feedback from both kids and adults was fabulous, and we raised about $1,000 for Nothing But Nets!
I just want you to know how wonderful it has been to do business with you and what a blessing it has been to deal with people who are so professional, courteous, and Christian in their behavior, from beginning to end. We're already thinking about wanting to do this again, but we can talk about that later! Thanks for everything! Here's another nice one from a fan at the Fredericksburg show:Just wanted to let y'all know that I took my daughter to her first rock concert last weekend -- ApologetiX in "Fred'sburg", VA. We had a great time (of course), but had to split right after the show so we didn't get a chance to wait around and chat.
I've been playing ApologetiX tunes around her all her life (she's 13), and she's made fans of some of her school friends, too--at a public school, to boot. I've got to tell you what a wonderful ministry you have. As I noted to friends that were there with us: it's great to have a rock show you can take your daughter to, and the only smoke in the room comes from the stage effects! Special thanks to:
Our concert coordinators: Pastor Scott Townsell, with help from Sarah Johnson (Wilkesboro); Susannah Godowns and Jerry Crisp, with help from Karrie Rector (Orangeburg); and Pastor Steve Khan (Fredericksburg).
Our merchandise coordinators: Willian, Sarah, Melanie, and Jamie (Wilkesboro); Karrie, Dan, Taylor, Aubree, and Kayla (Orangeburg); and Jenn "the Superchick," Josh, Holly, and Charlotte (Fredericksburg).
Our substitute bass player: John "P.J." Taylor, the pride of Philadelphia, who filled in very admirably for Keith Haynie.
Our bus driver: the amazing Dan Uber, who made his fourth tour of duty with us, the same week he had hernia surgery.
