ApologetiX in WI, NM, NC, KY, India?
Thu., Jun. 26. 2003 11:01pm EDT

J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.

Continuing in the grand tradition we started last week, this is yet another ApologetiX newsletter composed on board two airplanes. This week, we're en route from Pittsburgh to St. Louis to Paducah KY. Editor's Note: This newsletter was actually composed on Tuesday, and we thought it went out then, but we just discovered it didn't, so it's now going out on Thursday morning, in between our flights from Paducah to St. Louis to Milwaukee.

By the way, in case you're wondering, we are indeed planning to release another CD to follow up "Grace Period," and we hope to do so later this year, God willing ... although no official deadline has been set. We want to make sure we don't set any unrealistic expectations, but we've actually been working on songs (learning our parts and working on the lyrics) since January. I can't tell you the title or the songs yet (We already have selected the songs, and the lyrics are completed for most of the songs already), but I can tell you that we're currently planning for 22 songs, which would make this CD tied with "Biblical Graffiti" for most songs.

The songs we plan to spoof on the new CD span from the late 1950's to 2003, with plenty of classic and modern stuff, including rap, metal, alternative, disco, country and an overwhelming amount of plain old rock and roll. There will be plenty of artists that we have never spoofed before on this CD, but even more exciting for me is that we will have plenty of Bible stories and topics that we haven't discussed before. Can't wait to share them with you!

One of the great blessings of being in a Christian rock band in the Internet age is we get to hear from brothers, friends and fans from all over the world ... like this email we got from India a few days ago:

Dear J-man Jackson ...

Thanx for all your news and stuff... really neat what you have going... I've actually been in touch with Kathleen Burke (ApologetiX booking agent) to try and get you guys down to India for a few gigs... but it costs a lot of money and will probably take some time...

I'm Billy Yesudian, a Christian Musician in India... Like... Music is a great vehicle to carry the message of Jesus' love here in India... I got a message from a Hindu friend today who said... "I got to listen to your song... it was awesome... well I never knew Christian music was so cool. All the very best." See what I mean... we package the message in the music they like and all of a sudden BOOM something falls into place...

For a taste of my music, please hit this link... and download my song "I Found Love"... There are some pictures, concert dates and a write up as well... Can you help me by listening to it and sending me your comments? I actually design brochures, posters, CD covers, web sites etc. to support the family and then work on my music in my free time... but I want to devote more time to music ministry writing songs, recording, maybe put an album together, make a music video, reach out to students in schools and colleges etc... So, please keep this in your prayers and the Lord will make a way... AMEN..!

So, please go ahead and download "I Found Love", listen to it and also pass the link around to your contacts / friends... and help me out in anyway you can... (say like... advice)... Your help is much appreciated. Thanx a ton...

Love & Prayers, Billy Yesudian Tamil Nadu, India

We just received this fantastic email from Todd Sherinian, who organized our concert in El Cajon (San Diego) CA two weeks ago, and we wanted to share some of it with you:

"First things first, our congregation wanted me to pass along to you our thoughts and prayers for you, your families, and your Lord-glorifying ministry! The buzz on Sunday was something everyone felt; our worship was truly special. What's was interesting is that the people that were talking about the buzz, were the same people that hadn't attended the show, and they truly felt like they missed something special - next time they will come. Yes, I did say next time, as long as you guys are willing to visit us again.

Everyone saw you guys as our neighbors and just felt like they could relate with you, which amplified everything that you did - especially your witnessing. I have had emails and conversations with new and maturing Christians who attended the concert; and I have to make it perfectly clear that this was not entertainment, but worship. Those that had seen this as entertainment were touched, I am thinking of one specific example of a person who was dragged to the church with the family and was told that if it wasn't enjoyable all of the ticket money would be refunded and they could split. Guess what? The next day this person was in church and the family was blown away. (I keep you informed, but we are sure that we are going to have people come to Christ because of your ministry.)

So keep in prayer for those who have had the seed of the Holy Spirit planted within them that their time for a divine appointment is reached and we are there to welcome them open arms. I hope all is well, and it was a humbling experience meeting with you all. ApologetiX rock!"

Your brother in Christ, Todd Sherinian

Yes, folks, a couple of days ago we officially started a new summer. To celebrate the new summer, we've extended our old cracked CD sale (Can you tell I read far too many Mad Magazines as a kid?) As usual, when I stopped running ads for it in our last few newsletters, I started getting emails asking if it was still on. Here are the details once again:

We have a limited supply of CDs with cracked cases that we are selling at a greatly reduced price. All seven of our titles are available. All of the CDs and booklets are in perfect shape. The cases are in various degrees of disrepair, some are in near-perfect shape while some don't even have cases, but all of them have the CD, the booklet and the tray card, so all you need is a CD case in good condition. I will autograph all of the CDs to help make up for the broken cases.

For a limited time only, we are making them available to our e-mail subscribers for $7 each. We are also putting our remastered "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas" six-song CDs on sale for a limited time for $7 each.

Mail orders only. Sorry, no credit cards. Please make checks/money orders payable to ApologetiX.

Shipping & handling is a flat rate of $5 for your entire order, no matter how many you order.

Simply print out this e-mail and fill out the form below and send it in along with your check/money order to the address at the bottom of the order form.

We must receive your check/money order before we ship. Don't worry about contacting us by e-mail. Just send the form via postal mail and include your name and address.
