This Past Weekend in CT & ME
Mon., Jun. 16. 2008 11:36pm EDT
It had been two years since our last concert in Connecticut and three since our last one in Maine, but we'd thought constantly about the Constitution State, and we'd been pining for the Pine Tree State. So this past weekend, we finally did something about it, playing concerts in Darien CT and Waldoboro ME.
Based on the size and response of the audiences, they'd missed us as much as we'd missed them. Although it was only our third trip ever to each state, it looks like it won't be our last. We had a couple interested parties at each concert approach us afterward about coming back to their states.
And they weren't they only ones. Here's an email excerpt from a radio-show host in New York who attended Friday's show:It was awesome meeting you in person finally! The show rocked -- my wife and friends and I had a blast. You guys are really talented. Thanks so much for following the Lord's calling. You truly are gifted.
I find it really amazing how you are able to imitate different singers' voices so well! Awesome stuff! Your band is made up of some serious musicians. I am in awe at your talent. I also appreciate the corny humor. (Ask my wife, and she'll tell you.)
I know the CDs will be a big hit with our listeners. I'll be in touch about having you to Long Island, and when your episode of Divine Intervention will re-air. It will most likely be a week from Sunday, but I will let you know. God bless again!

Long Island NY Here's what the concert's promoter had to say:I want to tell all of you with ApologetiX how wonderfully you praised our Lord Jesus and Blessed Him. I know all that were there had fun. You all are great from your roadies to the performers. Thank you for blessing us all.

Darien CT Here are three more comments from Saturday night's show:Our church in Waldoboro sponsored your concert last night. Praise the Lord! You have a fantastic ministry! Thank God that there will be rock and roll in Heaven. I'm a 56-year-old elementary school teacher, and I've got to find a way to get your music in my public school classroom -- maybe background music in the morning? When I was in college, I worked in the local radio Top 40 station. Your songs are the ones that I played and rocked to. What a fresh way to honor Jesus! I'm also a deacon in His service in Waldoboro. I will add you to my daily prayer list. May Jesus Christ be praised through you ministry!

Waldoboro ME Hey guys. You rock! I'm 13 and I went to see your concert at First Baptist Church of Waldoboro. I brought my friend with me and my dad, and we had a great time! I loved it and thank you for praising the Lord with your music. I had just heard about you through my teacher who teaches at Coastal Christian School in Waldoboro and also attends First Baptist of Waldoboro. Thanks for a great evening of fellowship and great music. I hope you do another concert here soon.

Rockland MEwhen I saw you perform on Saturday in Waldoboro, I had the best time of my life! Having never been to a concert before, I thought that it rocked completely, but I'm sure that even if I had been to a concert before yours, it would not have exceeded yours in excellence, because I know that God was most definitely with you!

Jefferson ME Special thanks to:
Our concert coordinators: Diane Bell and Phyllis Schlemmer (Darien); and Bill Stred (Waldoboro). Thanks also to our old friend Mark Cowperthwaite for hooking us up with Bill and the church in Waldoboro.
Our merchandise coordinators: Lisa, Phyllis, and Diane (Darien); and Sara, Mark, Kelsey, and Willow.
Our bus driver: Rich "Aquaman" Polick, who has now seen ApologetiX play 111 times in a record 23 states/provinces.
Our crew: Micah, Jerry, and Brandon W.
Interesting note: At the church in Waldoboro, we also met a guy named John, who told us he was a former running back (#37) for our beloved Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969-70. Sadly, he went on to become a New England Patriots fan. But then again, the '69 Steelers did go 1-13.
