The Turtles & ApologetiX: So Happy Together?
Sat., Sep. 13. 2008 12:53pm EDT
The Turtles were a clever pop band that scored many hits in the latter half of the '60's, including the #1 hit "Happy Together," and the top 10 smashes "She'd Rather Be With Me," "Elenore," "You Showed Me," and "It Ain't Me Babe." After their chart run, two of the members (Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman) brought their tongue-in-cheek wit to Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, recording as "The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie" (a.k.a. "Flo and Eddie").
So aside from the bizarre sense of humor, what do the Turtles have in common with ApologetiX? A fan in Mississippi named Gordon Teats:I went to see the old '60's band The Turtles at the Hard Rock Casino. The Lord gave me an open door to talk to them (Flo & Eddie). I gave them the ApologetiX CD "New & Used Hits" and a copy of HM Magazine. They were very thankful for the gifts. Love you guys always.
