This Past Weekend in OH & MA
Sun., Dec. 14. 2008 9:24am EST
We finished with a flurry this past Friday and Saturday, making our final tour stops of the year in Columbiana OH and Pittsfield MA. That gave us a total of 88 concerts in 28 states in 2008.
Friday's concert literally almost got stuck in the mud, as it took us over an hour to get our bus out of the muck and mire before we could get on the road. And that came after spending another hour or so fixing a leak in the bus' air line to get it started in the first place.
Speaking of airlines, we flew to Saturday's show in Massachusetts (via Albany NY), where they'd had a big ice storm the day before. The trees looked beautiful covered in ice, but they'd had major power outages in the area. Thankfully, everything still worked out for the concert.
Special thanks to:
Jerry Hayostek, who not only ran sound on Friday but who also repaired the bus and then used his Ford pick up truck to help pull us out of the mud.
Rich Polick, who not only drove the bus to Columbiana but who also drove his car to Pittsfield the following day, loading up his trunk with plenty of ApologetiX supplies and saving us a fortune on baggage charges.
Rich has now seen us play 132 concerts in 25 states/provinces and has seen us play at least concert for 32 consecutive months. Next in line on the all-time list is Larry Davis, who attended his 122 concert in Columbiana, which just happens to be his hometown.
Our concert coordinators: Tammy Crismon (Columbiana) and Matthew Sposato (Pittsfield).
Our merchandise coordinators: Tammy and Eve (Columbiana) and Marie (Pittsfield).
Our roadies: Rich (Columbiana and Pittsfield); and Larry, Brandon, and Evan (Columbiana).
Our bus driver: Rich Polick (Columbiana).
