This Past Weekend in NC, WV & PA
Tue., Apr. 28. 2009 3:26pm EDT
We started out with a skeleton crew this past weekend in Pittsboro NC, Philippi WV, and Clarion PA. But make no bones about it, God provided.
Friday was a rare concert where we had to operate with the 2008 four-man line-up (J., Keith, Jimmy, and Bill). Unfortunately, that's all we had in the entire bus!
None of our regular drivers could make it, so the task fell to our bass player, Keith Haynie. Then our stage coordinator, Micah Clausen, who takes care of sound and light, came down with the flu suddenly on Thursday and couldn't come. Thankfully, the worship team at the conference had ApologetiX fans who were capable of helping us with set-up and sound. Special thanks to Michael Frank, who took care of mixing.
Tom Tincha (on guitar) and Greg Spack (on sound) joined us as planned for Saturday and Sunday. Our old friend Brandon Gross was a huge help on the lights at both of those concerts.
Special thanks to:
Our concert coordinators: Jon Pister (Pittsboro), Mark Farnsworth (Philippi), and Dan Uber (Clarion).
Our merchandise coordinators: Kara and Debra (Pittsboro); Marie (Philippi and Clarion); and Cheyenne, Sherry, and Jan (Philippi).
Our soundmen: Michael (Pittsboro) and Greg S. (Philippi and Clarion).
Our roadies: Brandon (Philippi and Clarion) and Evan (Philippi).
Our bus driver: Keith Haynie, who drove us to Pittsboro and Philippi (and home from Clarion) we couldn't get a driver for the weekend. And to Rich Polick, who drove the bus from Philippi to Clarion to give Keith a brief rest.
Honorable mention to: Gail Rowen of Lansdale PA. Clarion was her 25th ApologetiX concert in four states. Also to Brandon Gross of Connellsville PA. Philippi and Clarion were his 75th and 76th concerts in 11 states.
