Last Weekend in IN & KS
Mon., Aug. 17. 2009 12:28pm EDT

We had to take pronunciation lessons before our concerts last weekend in Paoli IN and Olathe KS. Say them with us now: "Pay-OH-lee and "O-LAY-thuh." Paoli isn't too far from Louisville KY and Olathe is a suburb of Kansas City, the birthplace of J.'s wife, Lisa. Both concerts were well attended, but more importantly, they had rockin' audiences, which always makes things a lot more fun.

It was our 50th concert ever in Indiana and our 10th in Kansas. On the way from the Hoosier State to the Sunflower State, we passed one of the funniest exit signs we'd ever seen -- "Santa Claus, Ferdinand, and Jasper." Those are three cities in Indiana -- not three people -- and definitely not the Three Wise Men! In fact, Santa Claus is the hometown of Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

One of our other favorite exit signs along the way was one we've passed many times before: the Ohio exit for "Tallmadge and Mogadore." Tallmadge sounds like a sister to Large Marge in Pee Wee's Big Adventure and Mogadore sounds like a brother to Trogdor, the dragon man invented by Strong Bad in the Homestar Runner cartoon. On another recent trip we even saw an exit with signs for both Burger King and Liquor King.

Here are two emails we received from this past weekend's concert promoters:

Thank you so much for bringing the band to our area. I thought you were all great again. It meant a lot to me to bring a band of your caliber to a small area like we have here.

Barry Marshall
Paoli IN

You guys were AWESOME! Something we will all be talking about for a long time! Can't wait to see you again! Let's go ahead and book your show for next year before anyone beats me to it. You guys were all really awesome! I LOVE you guys (band and crew)!

Nick Faddis
Olathe KS
Here's a comment from a new fan who came to Saturday's show:
I was at the concert that you guys performed at Christ Family Church in Olathe KS. I had never heard of ApologetiX before and wasn't sure if I would enjoy the concert. A co-worker of my mine and my boyfriends is a HUGE fan. He said the concert would be great from the beginning. I have to say he absolutely right. I had a AWESOME time. Thanks again for the music. I did purchase two CDs after the concert and will be listening to them at the two jobs that I work at during the week. Thanks again and God bless you all!

Here's another comment from an old fan who came to the same show:
Thanks again for an awesome night! I never realize how much I miss you guys until I see you in concert. I was so excited to finally meet TNT! You were right in saying that they are amazing people, as well as great guitarists. They add SO much to the band, and they complement each other as well. Very impressive! Tom M's testimony was excellent; he's another example of how God can change people's lives entirely from their own ideas of living. I'm glad he was able to share it with us. The new era of APX is astonishing!
