Title & Timetable for Our Next CD
Tue., Oct. 20. 2009 4:07pm EDT
Our next CD is titled The Boys Aren't Backin' Down. We recorded the basic tracks live in concert two weeks ago, but it's not your typical live CD. The best way to describe it would be "new and improved."
It will feature 18 tracks -- 13 new ones that have never been on CD before and 5 dramatically improved (both in lyrics and performance) versions of parodies from our two first CDs, Isn't Wasn't Ain't and Radical History Tour. Two of the 13 new tracks appeared in a very primitive form on our Rare Not Well Done downloads.
The title track for The Boys Aren't Backin' Down is the story of the early church in Acts 2-3, as seen through the eyes of a skeptic -- albeit an amazed skeptic.
We have crazy aspirations of getting this CD to you in time for Christmas shopping season. If so, we'll have released 17 CDs in 17 years. Live CDs don't take nearly as long as studio CDs, so it's not an unrealistic goal. But we'd appreciate your prayers!
We listened to the raw live tracks this past week and were pretty pleased with the results. We'll have to mix it properly and fix some technical and performance glitches -- which is typical for live albums -- but we're ready to hit the ground running.
Having seen the audience responses as we've played these parodies in concert, we're very excited to get them to you. The song selection covers a wide span, from 1964-2007, including three from the sixties, three from 2007, and songs from every decade between them.
