9. The $7 ApologetiX CD Sale

Thanks to all of you who surprised us at the concert in Belvidere IL last weekend! We couldn't believe how many of you drove from out of state to see us, including John Eklof, who came from Minnesota. I believe John has seen us in more different states than any other fan (many of them while on business trips), although we have another fan named Wanda and two named Audra that are determined to give him a run for his money, and quite a few of you have seen us in three or four states now. That blows me away. I haven't even seen most of my favorite bands when they've come to my hometown! Then again, I'm always away playing concerts in YOUR hometown :)

I sent John a thank you note and he wrote back, saying, "Last night was my 14th concert...Number 11 for both Carol (John's wife) and Melissa (their daughter). We're up to nearly 4,800 miles traveled to see ApologetiX (I don't count miles when I get a chance to see you when I'm somewhere on business...these are the miles we've put on exclusively to see you guys!)."

Amazing! Hey, our new CD, "Adam Up," is progressing well, and I definitely like this one the best of them all -- lots of humor and lots of Bible teaching and new verses to learn and some really powerful songs. Look for more clues later in this newsletter.

5. NEW APOLOGETIX SINGLE ADDED TO 23 STATIONS

"Look Yourself," the new ApologetiX single from the forthcoming ApologetiX CD, "Adam Up," was added to 23 Christian rock stations in its first week:

KAYA, KBNJ, KCVO, KHLL, KMNU, KRKS,?KSLT, KXEN, LATIN CCM / SOUTH AMERICA, WAEF, WAUQ, WBFJ, WBVM, WCCR, WCLH, WDML, WITR, WNCM, WRGX, WSNL, WVCP, WYSZ, WZZD

The song is a parody of controversial rapper Eminem's Grammy-winning number-one hit, "Lose Yourself," from the movie 8 Mile.

Long-time ApologetiX fans know that we have a tradition of giving clues about the songs on each upcoming CD. Well, I guess you won't be needing any clues regarding "Look Yourself." However, there's a special webpage for you that includes the first eight clues and the cover artwork, plus a special thermometer which will help you track the progress of "Adam Up" until it is ready to serve. Here's the link, especially for you:

6. "ADAM UP," THE NEW APOLOGETIX CD: CLUES #10, 11 and 12

Our latest CD, "Adam Up," is scheduled for release in late November. "Adam Up" features 22 Biblical parodies of both classic and modern rock songs.

Longtime ApologetiX fans know that we have a tradition of giving clues about the songs on each upcoming CD. This time, we're doing that and more. There's a special webpage for you that includes the clues we've given thus far, the cover artwork, and a special thermometer which will help you track the progress of "Adam Up" until it is ready to serve. Here's the link, especially for you:

http://www.apologetix.com/adamup

I'll include the three latest clues here:

Clue #10
Meshach The story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, with a different twist than the one we did in on "Keep the Change." That song had its roots in Babylon; this one has its roots in Athens.

Clue #11
Guide the Way Another topic we covered on "Keep the Change," but with a new, funkier perspective. That one was from King Darius' point of view. This time, Daniel gives a "live" account of a nervous night in the lion's den in this spoof of a recent modern rock hit. We don't want to say too much about the original artist or we'll give it away. Once you figure out the artist, you can figure out which hit of theirs we've spoofed by the way it rhymes with the new title.

Clue #12
Little-Read Bible Book The antithesis of "Baa! We're Lambs." A big, bad wolf in sheep's clothing discourages people from reading the Bible. The lamb's a sham and the book's overlooked.

8. PRAYER REQUEST

Please pray for Karl's wife, Debbie, who had knee and ankle surgery today. It was her third reconstruction since May 2000, and the Messners are praying that this one at frees Debbie from the constant pain she's been experiencing and helps her regain more mobility before the next mechanical reconstruction phase of getting her leg back in order (Debbie's doctor believes she will still need one or two surgeries after this one). To refresh your memory, Debbie had two horse-related accidents with that ankle - one in February 1996 when a horse fell on her while running in a competition, and again in May 1998 when a different horse jumped on top of her while leading him to the outdoor arena to ride. She had two separate surgeries in 2000 (May and September), that apparently failed, or at least didn't do what they were supposed to do. This injury affects absolutely everything in Debbie's life, from walking to driving to riding to sleeping, and we're really praying that today's surgery is a step in the right direction.

9. THE $7 APOLOGETIX CD SALE

You've heard about "Adam Up." How about "Autumn Up"? Earlier this year, we ran a cracked CD sale and received an overwhelming response. I am still receiving emails asking if the sale is still on, so we'll run it again from the beginning of Autumn (now) UP till we decide to stop it :) That way you can stock up on the old CDs before the new CD comes out. Here's the scoop: We have a limited supply of CDs with cracked cases that we are selling at a greatly reduced rate. All seven of our titles are available. All of the CDs and booklets are in perfect shape. The cases are in various degrees of disrepair, some are in near-perfect shape while some don't even have cases, but all of them have the CD, the booklet and the tray card, so all you need is a CD case in good condition. I will autograph all of the CDs to help make up for the broken cases.

For a limited time only, we are making them available to our e-mail subscribers for $7 each.

We are also putting our remastered "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas" six-song CDs on sale for a limited time for $7 each. The CD includes the following songs:

1. "Micah No. 5" -
Parody of "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega
2. "Late December 5 or 6 B.C. (Oh Holy Night)" -
Parody of "December 1963 (Oh What a Night)" by the Four Seasons
3. "Santa Claus" (It's not what you think, though) -
Parody of "Panama" by Van Halen
4. "Hotel Can't Afford Ya" (Newly recorded version) -
Parody of "Hotel California" by the Eagles
5. "Manger" (same version as "Keep the Change") -
Parody of "Angel" by Shaggy with Rayvon
6. "Christmasnite" (same version as "Keep the Change") -
Parody of "Kryptonite" by Three Doors Down
