This Past Weekend in OH & KY
Wed., Aug. 24. 2011 2:57pm EDT

We actually were able to play our concerts this past weekend in Peebles OH and La Center KY! That's front-page news, considering the bus problems that kept us off the road the previous four weekends.

But that doesn't mean we didn't have any bus problems on our trip. On our way to Saturday's concert, we stopped to refuel at a truck stop n Louisville KY, and after we finished fueling, the bus wouldn't start, because the batteries were dead (the bus uses two 12-volt batteries).

We sent out a prayer request on our Twitter and Facebook accounts (and prayed among ourselves, too), and God answered that prayer almost instantly. The repair people only took about five minute to get there, and they didn't charge us anything once they found out we were a Christian band.

To ensure there would be no more dead batteries for the rest of the trip, we purchased a portable battery charger in Paducah, but we still have to get the alternator fixed again. There is definitely a problem with the charging system, because the batteries aren't being charged by the alternator. In the meantime, we can run it using the battery charger.

Our electrician was supposed to make another house call on Tuesday to remedy the situation. He didn't show up, and was supposed to come on Wednesday instead.

Some people use Energizer batteries. Apparently, we use Antagonizer batteries; they don't keep going, but the problems associated with them do.

Our concert in Kentucky was extra special, because we had a blind fan come from Kentucky and a deaf fan come from Alabama!

Here is some email encouragement we received from our concert coordinators

I wanted to thank you for a fantastic concert! You're a godly group of guys. I have heard nothing but wonderful things from our people concerning the concert. We will be praying for the band as you tour.

Jim Chandler, Minister
Peebles Church of Christ
Peebles OH

Thanks again, guys, for a fantastic concert! It was a wonderful testimony to God's faithfulness in getting you here. I"m sure many were blessed. I know I was and am by your friendship.

Glen Dunkerson
La Center KY
Here are some comments we received from fans in attendance:
I had to write and say thank you for the concert this past weekend in Peebles OH. You were amazing and it was a privilege and a pleasure to be able to serve You in some small way.

My husband and I had the opportunity to speak to a couple of band members about the trials you've been through recently and both assured us that their love for the Lord and their other band members made even the unpleasant parts of the ministry pleasant. My husband's heart is not as easy to win as mine, but he came away with a great respect for you and what you're doing. Keep up the great work!
