8.One Last Thing

Thanks to all of you who came out to see us in Pittsburgh PA and Corpus Christi TX. We had the special treat of introducing the audience to the original ApologetiX drummer, Jeff Pakula, who was the first member to join the band after Karl and I got together. Jeff played for us for three years and is a dear friend.

Seeing as Pittsburgh is our hometown, you can expect to see us there again as soon as we can swing it. Corpus Christi was beautiful and the people are terrific, and I hear there is a good chance we'll be back there again later this fall and next spring! Plus, we'll be back for three other concerts in Texas in July and August. For more details, please check http://www.apologetix.com/tour.htm

1. WEDNESDAY: CAPE GIRARDEAU MO

If you're from anywhere near Cape Girardeau, you know that this concert isn't just for Missouri fans, but also for those of you in Kentucky and Illinois. Our old pal, Bob Flaherty, who was the official ApologetiX drummer from 1995-98 (including "Ticked"), will be along for the ride. If you have a copy of our "Ticked" CD (or any of our CDs), make sure you ask Bob to sign it. He's too humble to volunteer to do so. Last time we were in Missouri, Fred Behanna, who played drums for us from 1999-01 ("Biblical Graffiti" and "Spoofernatural") came, too.

4. OREGON: OUR 38th STATE

No, I didn't get the history wrong! We know Oregon was the 33rd State in the Union ... but we've just added a concert for August 9 in Portland, which will make Oregon the 38th state in which ApologetiX has played, narrowly edging out Wyoming, where we will play for the first time August 16, and Maine, where we will debut August 30. That means we'll have played in 40 of the 50 states by the end of August! I think that's totally cool, because I've always wanted to visit all 50 states, but it would be so much cooler to play in all 50!

For the curious, the 10 states left to go are Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota (although we play right near Fargo at Spirit Fest Midwest in Minnesota), Rhode Island and Utah (although the Salt Lake City newspaper ran a brief article on us a week or so ago).

5. NEXT SINGLE: HOW YOU REWIND ME (REMIX)

For those of you keeping score at home, we have released two singles to Christian Rock radio from our latest CD, "Grace Period." In previous times, we just left it to the stations to play whatever they wanted (and they can still do that, and that's what the non-rock stations do), but now we designate a particular song, so all of the rock stations can play it at the same time, which is what everybody else does and what our radio friends recommend. This dramatically increases the chances of those songs actually showing up on the Christian rock charts, which in turn increases exposure for ApologetiX, which in turn increases exposure to the message we are trying to put across.

Our first single was "Smooth Grandmama," which was followed by "Corinthians." For our third single, we've gone a step further and done a remix, so the single for "How You Rewind Me" will sound a little different than the one you know from "Grace Period" -- We rerecorded the vocals to give them a harder rock edge and the music is a little tighter, although the single retains the lyrics and the feel of the original parody. We plan to release the "How You Rewind Me" remix to radio in May, so stay tuned for more details.

6. CD SALE: ALL EIGHT APOLOGETIX TITLES $7 EACH

The orders keep pouring in for our cracked CD sale, so here are the details once again:

We have a limited supply of CDs with cracked cases that we are selling at a greatly reduced price. All seven of our titles are available. All of the CDs and booklets are in perfect shape. The cases are in various degrees of disrepair, some are in near-perfect shape while some don't even have cases, but all of them have the CD, the booklet and the tray card, so all you need is a CD case in good condition. I will autograph all of the CDs to help make up for the broken cases.

For a limited time only, we are making them available to our e-mail subscribers for $7 each. We are also putting our remastered "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas" six-song CDs on sale for a limited time for $7 each.

Mail orders only. Sorry, no credit cards. Please make checks/money orders payable to ApologetiX.

Shipping & handling is a flat rate of $5 for your entire order, no matter how many you order.

Simply print out this e-mail and fill out the form below and send it in along with your check/money order to the address at the bottom of the order form.

8. ONE LAST THING

The rest of the band will be driving the van this weekend, but I get to fly, and I'm telling you that so I can tell you why -- it's my parents' 50th anniversary! Usually we put prayer requests down at this part of the newsletter, and I just wanted to put in a word of praise and thanksgiving to God that He not only gave my parents such a great marriage (and four kids and 10 grandchildren with another on the way), but that He also has given them remarkably good health and clarity of mind, so they can not only celebrate but appreciate this golden time. Praise the Lord!

Apologetically,

J.
