Jimmy Plays His 600th Show
Thu., Mar. 29. 2012 2:43am EDT
ApologetiX drummer Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner played his 600th show with the band this past Saturday in Mount Vernon OH. Congratulations, Jimmy!
Of course, Jimmy's so quiet (when he's not playing drums) and unassuming that neither he nor we noticed it until after the fact. His wife, Eve, didn't know either, even though she drove over three hours to surprise him at the show, but she was glad to have been there for the historic event.
Jimmy played his first concert with ApologetiX on October 28, 2005 in Noblesville IN. He's now been with us for almost six and a half years. Here's where Jimmy has played his milestone shows. Note that each has come in a different state:
100 - Rochester NY (2006)
200 - Hickory NC (2007)
300 - Columbia MD (2008)
400 - Southington CT (2009)
500 - Grafton WV (2010)
600 - Mount Vernon OH (2012)
Jimmy has now played on eight ApologetiX CDs, counting Wise Up and Rock. Of course, he's not the type to boast. He knows that pride can be a snare, and every time Jimmy sees a snare he takes out his sticks and pounds it into submission!
But, seriously folks, Jimmy is a godsend, and we thank God for sending him to us.
Psst ... don't look now, but his birthday is this coming Monday, April 2!
