J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.

Howdy! We're heading out to different sections of Illinois this weekend -- one closer to Chicago and one closer to St. Louis. Guess I have to pack the Cubs AND the Cardinals shirts, not to mention the White Sox. We know that we have many fans and friends in each of those areas, and we look forward to seeing you all.

I had a great vacation with my wife and three daughters in Northwestern PA and Southwestern KY. While I was there, I got to visit WCTL in Erie/Waterford PA (along with our bass player, Keith) and WGCF in Paducah KY. Both of those stations have been very supportive of us in the past, and it was great to see those guys again. Special thanks to Ron Raymond, Mark Bradley Morrow and Joel Natalie at WCTL and Gary Goin and Bill Hughes at WGCF! All of you listeners need to know that all of those guys are even more fun off the air that than they are on the air.

While we were doing the interview at WCTL, the courageous Ron Raymond actually got to hold a live baby alligator as part of his interview with representatives from the Erie Zoo. That's courageous enough, but Ron really showed guts by not flinching when the little gator started thrashing as he was transferring it back to the zookeepers. We even got photos of Keith and me standing next to the baby alligator, with the zookeeper holding him, but I don't know if Karl posted them to our website. No, we didn't want to hold the little critter ourselves. Who do you think we are -- Ron Raymond of WCTL?

3. Karl's Korner: Extras Needed for ApologetiX Video Shoot Tuesday

Wanna be in the first ApologetiX Video?

Every time I go to Nashville to promote ApologetiX, all the Christian Video shows ask me when we're going to give them a video to play. We've kicked around some great ideas, but never had the time to actually do one. But now, we have a great screenplay for one for our upcoming single release and J and I were talking on the phone, and we don't have much time, but we both decided, "Let's just do it!"

One of our good friends, Eric Pensenstadler ( school mate of my wife and brother of longtime band friend and Christian radio personality Dave Penn, also of the band 70x7), is also the head videographer for Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you've been to see them this year, you saw video interspersed in the show, and that's Eric's work. I had lunch with him yesterday and he thinks we're crazy with our schedule, but we're doing it. And we'd LOVE some company. Now, not many people can make a midweek thing like this on such short notice, but if you can, we'd love to have you. Maybe get you in the video!

We'll be shooting starting around 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Candlelight Acres (our farm in Economy, PA). We'll be shooting all day, and into the evening and we'd love to let you come observe. AND we'll need some people for extras and audience shots. There won't be that many people in the audience shot, so you'll be seen!

I don't want to give away what song we're doing, but let me give you this hint - it's a story from the Bible. So, typical biblical attire is a plus and we'll have some. We'll be doing two parts - one that is set in modern times, and one that is set in biblical times. If you or your church has some of those robes we always see in movies like the Ten Commandments feel free to bring it ;) Sandals work for both time periods ;)

We'll have some hot dogs for you, too ;)

Most of our families will be there, hopefully, so, you'll get to meet the ApologetiX extended clan. Please email me ( karl@apologetix.com ) if you're really thinking you can make it, and a I'm sure a couple of our closest friends, who live far away might want to come the night before and stay at the farm. Our old farmhouse can hold an additional 8 guests fairly comfortably for Monday night- first come first served ;) just let me know if you'd want to.

If you'd like to come to the video shoot next Tuesday, feel free to email for directions! karl@apologetix.com

2 Peter 3:15-16
Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
