J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.

They're coming to take me away. No, seriously. The other guys in the band are coming to take me away at 6 a.m. EST, just a few hours from now, and we're going to spend 15-20 hours driving from Pennsylvania to Louisiana in one day. We're meeting at my house this time (When we go north, we usually leave from Keith's polar locale; when we go south, we usually leave from my tropical abode :)

Anyway, that means, I have to get up at 5 a.m. EST, and its already almost 1:30 a.m. as I type this, so I'm going to make it brief. Thanks to everybody who came to see us in Cleveland, Rockford IL, and Indianapolis last weekend. Hope to see many of you in Louisiana, Tennessee and Pittsburgh in the next few days. Please note this "weekend" of concerts starts on Saturday and ends on Monday, rather than our usual Friday-Sunday.

Also, don't miss the news about our big Austin TX concert in two weeks. See sections #5 and 7 below. God bless you all!

6. How You Can Help Our New Single on the Charts

If you've read the previous few newsletters, you know that "Downer of a Sister," the third single from our "Adam Up" CD, has been doing fairly well on the national Christian rock charts. If you'd like to see it do REALLY well, believe it or not, there is something you can do.

"Downer of a Sister" is a pretty hard-rocking song, so there are a number of stations that ordinarily play ApologetiX that are still considering whether to play this single. What helps convince them? People contacting the station and requesting it. If you'd like to help, here's a list of the stations that are still undecided:

AOL Christian Music Channels (Internet) CJLF Life 100.3 (Barrie ON) CKCU (Ottawa ON) Commission Christian Radio Productions (Syndicated) Jones Radio Network (Consulting Firm) KAIM (Honolulu HI) KCLC (St. Louis/St. Charles MO) KGNZ Light Brigade (Lubbock/Abilene/Graham/Snyder TX) KOKF (Oklahoma City OK) KRNG Renegade Radio (Wadsworth NV) KSBJ Light Force (Houston/Galveston TX) Latin CCM (Network in South America) The X Station (Internet) WAYK/WAYG (Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids MI) WBHY (Mobile AL & Pensicola FL) WBOP (Harrisonbug VA) WCLQ (Wausau/Stevens Point WI) WERR (San Juan PR) WIBV/The Alien (Mt. Vernon/Central & Southern IL) WJIS/WLPJ (Sarasota/Tampa Bay FL) WLSR/The Other Side (Galesburg IL) WMKL/The Call (Key Largo/Miami) WOLR (Jacksonville/Gainesville/Tallahassee FL) WORQ Q-90 (Green Bay WI) WSCF (Ft. Pierce/Stuart/Vero Beach FL) WSNL (Flint MI) WYSZ Yes FM (Toledo/Wauseon/Fremont/Lima OH)

Thanks for your help!

7. We're Coming to Austin in Two Weeks!

In case you didn't notice in section #5 above, we are coming back to Austin TX in two weeks! It may look like this is a recent development, but it's actually been in the works for a long time. Unfortunately, we couldn't give you the info until all the details were solidified and verified.

On Saturday, September 4, we'll be performing a special benefit concert for KNLE, a station that blazed the trail for Christian radio stations in the early days, and one of the first Christian radio stations to ever give ApologetiX significant airplay (These guys have been known to play entire ApologetiX albums at a time!)

We've done concerts with KNLE in the past, and we get great turnouts for these events. This time around, we'll have our keyboardist, Bill Hubauer, with us for the first time, and we're also doing a special $7 CD sale at the merchandise table at the concert. All you Texas fans who have been asking us when we're coming back, this is the one you don't want to miss!

8. Upcoming Concerts (Including New Ones in TX and WI)

This list adds concerts frequently, so stay tuned for more info. For the full details on all of the concerts below, please go to http://www.apologetix.com/tour.html and scroll to the bottom.
