More Extreme Bus Troubles
Sun., Nov. 4. 2012 6:12pm EST
Last night, on the way home from our Shippensburg PA show (on the PA Turnpike between Bedford and Somerset), our bus broke a pulley that caused it to blow a fan belt that powered the entire bus, and we couldn't get it or the trailer home.
Keith and Rich are going out (it's about 130 miles from Keith's) today to try to fix it. Thankfully, we had brought J.'s mini-van along in case of emergency and were able to get everybody home. The reason we'd brought the extra vehicle was because of the previous night's trials as described below:
On Friday night, we had different bus problems that almost kept us from getting home from our Braceville OH concert. We couldn't get it started for an hour after the show, and then it conked out during a rest stop and wouldn't re-start for awhile. Saturday afternoon as we were pulling up to unload, it gave out again about 30 feet from the loading dock. Those episodes appear to have been caused by a faulty solenoid valve.
All that comes on top of us having to replace the starter a few weeks ago and having to replace the entire transmission the week after that. Please keep us in prayer. It seems like no matter what vehicle we have, what repair shop we use, or what part we replace, we still have transportation troubles.
