6. Upcoming Concerts
Saturday we'll be at Penn State University for a special FREE concert with such notable bands as Jars of Clay, Skillet, Ten Shekel Shirt, Big Daddy Weave and others. The organizers of this event really want to make this an outreach to the local college community (of course, everybody is welcome), so please pray that God draws many people to Him there.
Thanks to all of you who came to see us in Alton IL (near St. Louis MO) this past weekend. Special thanks to devoted ApologetiX friends, Chris and Alex (mother and son), who not only brought us a cake but also brought one of Alex's many exotic pets, a large black Emperor Scorpion. Although they're based in Wisconsin, Chris and Alex have seen us in many states, including locales as far away as Georgia and Louisiana. Alex owns a number of pets you wouldn't want to pet, including a tarantula, boa constrictors, pythons and an alligator, but not a crocodile because, as Chris says, "They're mean."
We got a scare at Saturday's concert when a teenage concertgoer named Chris suffered an epileptic seizure. Most of the people at the concert didn't see the seizure, but they did see a teenager laid out on the floor. Thankfully, there were medical personnel on hand, and we were all able to pray as a body, and God answered those prayers. I know that a number of our newsletter readers were at the concert, so I'll share the email correspondence we got the next day from Chris' youth pastor:
"Chris is fine all the tests came back all right. He does have a history of this. I want to thank you for praying for him, and please keep him in your prayers. I think you guys did a great job tonight ... Chris doesn't get to go to allot of outings and he was pretty excited about this one. He was afraid that the flashing lights would cause him a problem. When the show started he said that the lights were not bad and this was cool. When he had the seizure the lights were behind him I don't think that was the problem, my opinion. I think that his medicine was a little low. But, thank God, he is fine. He is a special kid and God has His hand on him. My wife told me that after I left you guys had a great message and music was great. Keep showing God's love."
Praise God that Chris is all right!
Hope your Bible reading is going well. I forgot to report two weeks ago that I finished up the Old Testament and started the New Testament once again. In fact, I just finished up the Gospel According to Mark today. I love the Old Testament, but it's always such a relief to get to the New Testament! It's not only easier to understand it, it's easier to LIVE it! As we've said before, we believe in reading the Bible cover to cover and over and over, we've found that each time through, it gets better and better.
Just a little test here to see if you read this far into the newsletter: We've been in the studio again recording tracks for a new CD due out in time for the Christmas season. Watch for more details in upcoming newsletters.

4. "Downer of a Sister" Hits R&R's National Top 30
Just when we thought our latest single, "Downer of a Sister," had run its course, God surprised us and our faithful radio promoter, Seth Holloway of Least of These Promotions, called to let us know it had just hit this week's R&R Magazine National Top 30 (#28) for Christian Rock. Thanks to Seth and to all of you who have been asking your local Christian rock stations to play it. Keep up the good work!
We hope to have the video for "Downer of a Sister" available for purchase as a DVD single for ApologetiX fans soon. Stay tuned for more details in upcoming newsletters.
5. Encouragement from Scotland
It still blows our minds that we receive so many emails from fans in other countries. Here's a great one we got this week from a fan in Scotland who recently bought all eight of our CDs that are available in stores there:
"I'm 42, and grew up with Queen, Genesis, Bachman Turner Overdrive, etc. One of my favourite pieces of music was 'Don't Fear the Reaper - for the music. However, i stopped listening to all my old stuff a while ago but heard nothing on the Christian scene to rival the quality. I am absolutely delighted to have discovered ApologetiX and am unlikely to listen to much else now. With songs ranging from the very, very clever 'Crowd of Foreign Girls,' through the beautiful 'It's Not Eden,' to the way the old anthem of rebellion has been turned into 'Regeneration,' I have been impressed, laughed and cried my way through the tracks.
"I felt I had to write to let you know how much I am enjoying your work and that God's truth speaks through much of what you have done. I hate current music but 'Look Yourself,' 'The Real Sin Savior' and 'Corinthians' are stunning and can get over a message to the kids of this age. Thank you very much. You have been a great blessing to me (and my family).
"Only one more thing: Are you ever going to stop spoiling the U.S.A. and get yourselves over here??? Or I am gonna have to come over there???
Regards, Andrew Holden
Editor's Note: Hey, is that cool or what?
