Keith Needs Shoulder-Replacement Surgery

ApologetiX bass player Keith Haynie just found out that he needs to have shoulder-replacement surgery next Wednesday, January 23.
Keith considers that good news, because it should bring relief to chronic pain he's had in that area. Keith's wife, Krista, is a nurse and explained the reason the shoulder needs replaced:
"It's degenerative joint disease (DJD) -- osteoarthritis," she said. "The shoulder is bone on bone with no cushion, because the cartilage is worn down and there are multiple bone spurs. It's really, really bad."
Krista says Keith will need to stay in the hospital for one or two nights and then will need a sling for a while. He should be OK to play bass after he's out of the sling. It will, however, affect his ability to lift and do other strenuous work.
Keith's most-pressing question to the doctor was "Will I be able to throw again?" He doesn't want to miss any football games against the kids.
Keith is scheduled to finish recording the remaining bass parts for our Hot Potato Soup CD on Monday. Thankfully, we're off the road now, so that gives him time to recuperate.
Please pray for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
