"Downer of a Sister" on Two National Video Shows
Mon., Dec. 13. 2004 10:40pm EST
We hear that our "Downer of a Sister" DVD has been shown recently on both JC-TV and TBN's "Real Videos." You can order your personal copy for only $7.99. They're in stock and ready to ship.
The DVD comes with a full-color, four-page CD booklet (featuring liner notes, plenty of photos, cast and crew listing, and inside information) in a slimline case, so you can store it with the rest of your ApologetiX collection in a CD binder or on the shelf. There's also a hilarious blooper reel featuring outtakes from the filming session, plus a gallery of still photos.
Directed by ApologetiX lead guitarist/producer Karl Messner and filmed by Lynyrd Skynyrd videographer Eric Pensenstadler, "Downer of a Sister" is our hit parody of System of a Down's alternative hit "Chop Suey" and tells the biblical story (Genesis 29:15-30) of how Jacob came to be married to two wives, Rachel and Leah, as a result of his Uncle Laban's deception. The video brings that story to life, using an unconventional mix of Biblical attire, modern rock music and old-fashioned humor.
Imagine waking up the morning after your wedding night and discovering you didn't marry the dream girl you'd been engaged to for the past seven years but her very different-looking older sister! And to top it off, you'd been double-crossed by your new father-in-law, who also happens to be your uncle. This is reality T.V. circa 1800 B.C.
