This Past Weekend in TN & NC
Mon., Jul. 15. 2013 9:39pm EDT

Our weekend last weekend was a real coup de villes -- Greeneville TN and Mocksville NC. The people in both places treated us to a heapin' helpin' of Southern hospitality. But we had fans travel from as far away as Rockford IL!

As one of our fans pointed out, a place called "Mocksville" seems like the perfect place for a parody band to play. And it was. Meanwhile, the folks in Greeneville made us feel right at home by substituting for "y'all" with "you-uns" something we used to think folks only did in Pittsburgh.

According to Wikipedia, that term has Irish and Scots-Irish roots and can also be spelled you'uns, y'ins, y'uns, yunz, yuns, yinz, yenz, yins or ynz, and is found not only in Pittsburgh throughout the Appalachians.

Here are some follow-up email excerpts from our concert coordinators:

I was honored to be with you guys. I enjoyed hanging out and working with you -- everyone of the band made me feel important and respected, everyone had a great attitude and treated me well, even the crew. I can't say enough good things about you all. I feel like we are family and friends, and I hope I can stay in touch. Great show. I will contact you later. I want to see what we can do to get you all back down here.

Greeneville TN

It was my pleasure and a wonderful experience. The leadership team was very impressed and some are already looking forward to the next event. You all are such powerful disciples. May God continue to bless you richly.

Susan Pifer

Mocksville NC
Here are some nice email/Facebook excerpts we received from fans in attendance:
I saw your concert tonight! Great music! First time ever listening, really felt at home with your music! Keep it up! Very touching!

Kathryn Holcomb
Greeneville TN

The concert was great last night. Well worth the 2 1/2 hour trip up to see you. Of course, there was no doubt in my mind about that.

Beth McGee
Oldfort TN

Nice concert for the Rock last night. My wife and two oldest, enjoyed rocking for The King!

Joe Russell
Waynesville NC

We were third row, center stage tonight. Great show! Thanks for coming to NC.

Mark White
Hickory NC
Special thanks to:

Our concert coordinators: Danny Ricker (Greeneville) and Susan Pifer (Mocksville)

Our merchandise coordinators: Celia and Samantha (Greeneville) and Kristen and Katlyn (Mocksville)

Our crew: Greg and Evan

Honorable mention to:

Evan Gross, who has now been to 148 concerts (putting him in second place all time for a fan who is not actually part of the band) in 21 states (tying him for sixth)

Jim and Tami Hardin, who traveled all the way form Rockford IL to our show in Mocksville NC

Melissa and Christian Lampley, who came from Leesburg VA to Mocksville

John Ladd, who drove from Cross Hill SC to Mocksville

Christopher Walther, who came from Columbia SC to Mocksville

Many other fans in North Carolina who told us they drove two to three hours across the state to see us in Mocksville

Beth McGee, who drove 2.5 hours from Oldfort TN in Greeneville.
