Friday in Philly: Sixers, Knicks & ApologetiX
Tue., Dec. 14. 2004 11:40pm EST
ApologetiX joins the NBA this Friday, December 17, when we play a concert at the Wachovia Center after the Philadelphia 76ers/New York Knicks game. For more details, check out this week's newsletter or the "Concerts" section of apologetix.com.
There is a rumor floating about that all the members of ApologetiX are at least six feet tall. Since there are five members of ApologetiX and five starters for the 76ers and both groups play on Friday at the Wachovia Center (ApologetiX plays rock and roll, the Sixers play baskeball), perhaps people mistakenly thought the groups were playing each other.
Actually, not a single member of ApologetiX is over 5' 18," and the shortest member is only 5' 12." Three of the five members measure in at about 5' 15." Seeing as three people share that height, it's obviously an average height, right? There is only six inches difference in height among the five members. Six divided by five is only 1 1/5 inches. Surely we can all agree that 1 1/5 inches isn't very tall at all, is it?
Further confusing the issue, Sixers star Allen Iverson released a rap album a few years ago, and ApologetiX had the #1 national Christian rap/hip hot single in early 2004. Like ApologetiX, Iverson is also a couple inches short of six feet, at 5'10 or 5'11, so it's easy to see how all those similarities worked together and snowballed to create this tall tale.
