Clues for Our New Holiday Single
Fri., Nov. 28. 2014 1:25am EST
After a month without singles, we plan to release our next one on the eve of December, this Sunday night. Yes, we're calling it a holiday single, but not because we're afraid of mentioning Christmas; one of these songs is about another holiday that happens this time of year, Hanukkah!
SONG #1
Some Christians deck the halls at Christmas, saying Jesus is the reason for the season. Others wreck the halls and say it isn't so, citing commercialism and supposed pagan origins as reasons they can't go for that. Do what you want, but it's a missed opportunity. The weather outside is frightful, so the last thing we need is a wet blanket. Let's bring joy to the world during one of the two times a year when the world actually acknowledges Christ.
SONG #2
This is a parody of a song associated with Summer about a celebration associated with Winter. We're sure you've heard the original on the radio. Here's another paradox: Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday, but it's found in the New Testament, not the Old. So where did it come from? Why do they dim all the lights and put a special menorah in the window? Heaven knows we Christians could stand to learn more about Jewish history and traditions.
These two new studio recordings should be available by Sunday night. Once the new single is released, we'll announce it on our website, on Facebook, and Twitter.
