Spend Some Time With ApologetiX in March
Wed., Feb. 9. 2005 11:18pm EST

In March 1992, we played our first concert as ApologetiX, at a coffee house in Irwin, PA. Our first six years were spent playing primarily within a few hours of our home base in Pittsburgh, PA. In our last six years, however, we've played in 44 states (most of them multiple times), including Hawaii, plus Canada.

The downside of all this travel is we rarely get to play close to home. That's a shame, because we're all married guys with families, and we like it when they can see us in concert. We also like sleeping in our own beds after a concert, even if it's not till the wee hours. Furthermore, our email database of fans (45,000 and growing fast) indicates that a huge number live within a 250-mile radius of Pittsburgh. In fact, we get asked all the time when we're going to be playing locally again. And experience shows that many ApologetiX fans think nothing of traveling 250 miles to see us in concert.

Consequently, since March marks our 13th anniversary (and we're anything but superstitious), we're celebrating by booking a series of March concerts within 250 miles of Pittsburgh. We'll kick off that celebration on the last day of February with a concert in Irwin, the place where it all began. January through March are traditionally months when we deliberately don't schedule as many concerts, but this year we've kept pretty busy. We were in Michigan last weekend, and we'll be in Connecticut, Missouri and Illinois the next three weekends.

But we've set aside March primarily for concerts within a 250-mile radius of home. We can save a lot of expenses by devoting a month to "local" concerts (anywhere within 250 miles seems local to us these days!), so we're able to offer those concerts at a big discount. With a price like that and a limited number of weekend dates, our schedule will likely fill up fast, but this is the first we've announced it, so nobody else has a head start on you. If you'd like to more information about possibly booking a March concert with ApologetiX, please contact our lead guitarist and producer, Karl Messner, at karl@apologetix.com.

Please note: If you'd like to schedule a concert in March with ApologetiX and you're outside the 250-mile radius, please don't hesitate to contact Karl. We're focusing on the 250-mile radius, but we're not going to turn away somebody outside the radius who really wants to do a concert in March.
