Video Shoot Continues in Kewanee This Friday
Wed., Apr. 6. 2005 12:35pm EDT
Thanks to all of you who showed up for our "live concert" video shoot last Friday in Greenfield IN. But even if you missed that, you can still be a part of things by coming to Kewanee IL this Friday.
Here's the scoop: On the plus side, the concert last Friday was sold out, and standing room only. Our videographer tells us he got some great footage.
Unfortunately, we had numerous problems with the sound system and with my voice, particularly on the high notes in certain songs, as I have been sick since early last week (I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow.) It was pretty frustrating. All of our March concerts had gone so well, and then as soon as the video cameras started rolling, the wheels fell off.
A common technique used in "live" recordings since the 1970's has been to "touch up" vocal and instrumental parts in the studio and/or combine performances from various shows. To be frank, we also recorded our show in Spingfield MO last Sunday night for just such a purpose. However, although it was a better show, my voice was still having some problems, and the sound of the venue just didn't match the sound of Friday's venue.
Which brings us to Kewanee IL this Friday. Our lead guitarist/producer Karl Messner says the venue in Kewanee is very similar to the one for the video shoot, and the audience is expected to be about the same size. So we're going to attempt to record the audio for this show, too.
What does that mean? Well, it means that even if you didn't make it into the video footage last Friday, you have a chance to make it onto the soundtrack, depending on how things turn out. Even if you can't make it, please pray for us to be able to play and sing our very best. Thank you!
