Prayer Request for Keith's Mom & Karl's Wife
Mon., Aug. 29. 2005 12:32pm EDT
Please pray for Deb Messner, the wife our lead guitarist/producer, Karl Messner.
Deb is undergoing major nerve surgery on her right leg this Wednesday. She'll be in the hospital four days, paralyzed from the waist down, and heavily sedated. Karl will be there for the surgery and the first two days of the hospital stay. But, rest assured, Deb's care has been carefully planned. Her parents will be in town to bring her home and long time friends, Wanda Rose Bush, and her physician husband, Dr. Jerry Bush are actually flying up from Atlanta to the Messner Farm to help Deb her first six days home until Karl comes back from the road.
Dr. and Mrs. Bush will be aided periodically by our friends Greg and Heidi Micher, and fan/friend/neighbor/Nurse Julie Falarski. Thanks to all of them, Karl can press on in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana knowing that Deb is well tended to.
This is the fourth surgery on that leg since May 2000 and God willing, the last. The nerve was entrapped when her horse slipped and fell on her leg racing around a barrel in training. Here are Deb's requests:
"Please ask for prayer for my doctor's knowledge to help the damage to my leg, and for my strength to go through the procedure and subsequent recovery. Having been through this before, I know exactly what to expect, which I think is worse."
Please continue to pray for Bonnie Haynie, the mother of our bass player, Keith. Bonnie had a very serious, lengthy surgery last Monday to fix a life-threatening stomach condition combined with cancer.
The surgery appears to have gone well, and last Tuesday she was taken off the respirator and moved from critical care to intensive care. On Thursday, she was moved from intensive care to a private room.
Keith and his family are very thankful to God and thankful to you for your prayers.
