This Past Weekend in PA, NY & OH
Tue., Mar. 21. 2006 9:07am EST
Thanks to everybody who came out to see us this past weekend in Johnsonburg PA, Endicott NY, and Kingsville OH. And thanks to God, who enabled us to make it to an auto-parts store before our van battery went totally kaput on Sunday (it got drained the previous weekend after the fuel pump went bad).
New fuel pump: $400. New battery: $75. Getting to all of our concerts and back on time: Priceless.
For the past two weeks, we've been rehearsing new parodies (for a new CD later this year) during our sound checks, and that's been a lot of fun. The few fans who've witnessed the process seem pretty psyched about what they've heard thus far, including Friday and Sunday.
Some logistical constraints before Saturday's show prevented us from trying new songs once we were soundchecked and set up, so we did something a little different (thanks to our drummer, Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner).
We'll let Bruce Eldred, who coordinated the Endicott concert, tell you more about that in this email he sent us on Monday:
Thanks so much for coming to New Life, we had an amazing sellout crowd and it was a super-positive event for our church. I heard a lot of good comments about the show.
Of course watching the Brady Bunch concert and H.R. Pufnstuf tapes with you guys before the show will be etched in my memory forever, along with Nick dancing on stage during "The Devil Went Down to Jordan." I think we ought to put a copy of that as a video clip on your web site.
Keep up the good work, it's gotta get tough traveling so much, we'll keep praying for you guys.
Thanks, Bruce! Thanks also to:
our other concert coordinators: Bob Johnson (Johnsonburg) and Linda and Jessica Delfft (Kingsville).
our merchandise-table workers: Jenn and Micah (Johnsonburg); Jenn, Sheila, Melanie, Jenna, and Linda (Endicott); and Heidi, Jessica, and Stacy (Kingsville).
our roadies and other people laboring behind the scenes: Micah (Johnsonburg and Endicott); Larry, Beth, and Don (Johnsonburg); and Pastor Chris, Pastor Rob, Bruce, Lori, Nick, Pat, Colin, Justine, and Melanie (Endicott); Greg, Rich, Larry, and Beth (Kingsville) and everybody else we're forgetting.
our soundmen: Pastor Rob (Endicott) and Greg (Kingsville).
Extra special thanks to the Armstrong family (Mark, Renee, Kara, and Krista), who recently blessed us immensely by purchasing us a brand-new $1000 deluxe sound board . Kara and Krista have seen many of our concerts in Ohio and Pennsylvania over the years, and they were in attendance again Sunday in Kingsville.
If you'd ever like to contribute to the band's live touring ministry with anything from a $5 set of guitar strings (which Karl "never breaks") to the $1000-per-person in-ear monitors that we're trying to get to drastically improve our sound and performance just let us know.
We'll be back in Pennsylvania and Ohio soon (Holland OH on April 30 and Brockway PA on July 3), but there's nothing currently scheduled for New York, which is a shame, because it's adjacent to our home state, and we always get a tremendous turnout in the Empire State. You New York fans, please pray us back there and if any of you would like to schedule a concert with us, please tell us all about your church or event on our contact page:

Hope to see you there!
