Play Me That Mountie Music: Canadian Policeman Enjoys APX
Mon., Apr. 10. 2006 9:57am EDT
We just received our first fan mail from a genuine Canadian Mountie! And he writes:
I just wanted to send in a message to tell you how much I appreciate your music. I am a Police Officer in Canada with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and due to my schedule have to work out at strange times of the day or night in order to stay in shape. I have all your CDs and use them as my music during my workout routines.
I regularly get asked by my fellow officers "what are you listening to?" and it gives me a chance to share my faith with them. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your work.
As a side note, my wife and children love your music as well and have asked me to mention that they feel you should put out a Karaoke CD to your parodies.

Thanks, Gary! We're honored! In regard to that karaoke question, we get asked that a lot. We don't sell CDs with just the instrumentation, because we didn't write the music, and the only way we legally can do this music is as a parody, and if we produced it without the parody words, it wouldn't be a parody anymore. Make sense?
You can also find lots of CDs in music stores and even Wal-Mart's music section that have Karaoke versions of many songs. Furthermore, you can find most songs out there in Karaoke form if you order from some of the Karaoke web sites out there. Just do a word search with the word "Karaoke" and the names of the songs and/or original artists you're looking for. You have to take whatever you can find that way, though. Some Karaoke versions are better than others.
