Jimmy Spends a Day With the World's Best Bassists

Recently ApologetiX drummer Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner got to spend the day with three of the world's best bass players, Stu Hamm, Billy Sheehan, and Jeff Berlin, as they came to Pittsburgh for the Bx3 tour.
"My brother-in-law Bob Snyder was the tour manager for the tour," Jimmy explains. "Bob had asked me if I would be able to drive them around a bit while they stayed in Pittsburgh for where they were playing that evening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Station Square.
"So, after picking them up at their hotel, I drove them down to the Hard Rock to help set up. They were super funny and very down-to-earth guys. From the time we left the hotel, Stu told jokes. It was an awesome show and I got to hang out with them before and after the show."
Stu Hamm has been the bass player for Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and G3, and was voted Best Rock Bassist two years in a row and Best Jazz Bassist three years in a row.
Billy Sheehan has played bass for Mr. Big, David Lee Roth, Steve Vai, G3, and Talas, and was voted Best Rock Bass Player by Guitar Player magazine five times.
Jeff Berlin has played bass with such notables as Jermaine Jackson, Isaac Hayes, Bill Bruford, Yes, Allan Holdsworth, and many others. He was voted #1 Jazz Bassist in Guitar Player magazine's readers' poll two years in a row.
The three bass players were also accompanied by two other renowned musicians, guitarist Jude Gold and drummer John Mader.
The world's best Christian parody bass player, ApologetiX's own Keith Haynie, joined Jimmy at the Hard Rock Cafe for the show.
