This Past Week in PA & TX
Mon., Jul. 10. 2006 11:30am EDT

We finished up our five-day Independence Weekend tour with a bang -- literally -- as there were fireworks following our concerts in Brockway PA on Monday, July 3, and Mexia TX (near Waco and Dallas) on Tuesday, July 4.

The previous three days, we'd played in Kentwood MI (Grand Rapids), Garfield Heights OH (Cleveland), and Steubenville OH, as reported in last week's newsletter. Now we'll take a much-needed vacation this weekend, July 7-9, but we'll be back in action on July 15 at the 25th annual Sonshine Festival in Willmar MN.

Here's a nice quote we didn't get to include regarding Saturday's concert in Garfield Heights:

The show in Garfield Hts. was awesome. My wife told me earlier that day we were going to the show. I had never heard of your band prior. I am a Christian and I am still very much into secular music.

I have a passion for music, always have. I was into drums at age 7. I have never taken my musical abilities to the next level and I think God infused me with a lot of musical ambition that I could use to bring glory to His name. Anyway, I bought your greatest hits CD and you signed it.

I told you that the band was very tight and it is. My wife Crystal was so excited that I enjoyed the band so much. I work a lot and she has been patiently waiting for me to get connected more, ya know what I mean? I can't wait to see you guys live again. She already called me a groupie! Ha!

See you again and thanks for an amazing show.

Ashtabula OH

Honorable Mention to:

Robert and LaDonna Creagle, who got married on Tuesday morning at the Mexia church where we played. After the wedding, they stayed to watch the concerts AND to help work our CD merchandise table!

Brandon and Evan Gross, who came to four straight concerts in Grand Rapids MI (Friday), Cleveland OH (Saturday), Steubenville OH (Sunday), and Brockway PA (Monday) and also were a great help to us as roadies. Brandon also reports the following:

It was alot of fun hanging out and rocking with you guys this weekend! And don't worry you can't get rid of us that easily. After I got home from Brockway my friend Mik sent me an email that I thought you might be interested in reading!

"I was hanging out with CP(InPop Records band Casting Pearls) while another band was playing onstage. Case (CP's bass player) started singing an Apologetix song; just a couple of lines.

I thought you might like to read that!

Emily Coffey, who flew in from Lansdale PA to see us play six concerts (Murrysville, Canal Fulton, Greensburg, Cleveland, Steubenville, and Brockway) over two weeks. Emily stayed with ApologetiX superfan Beth Davis, and apparently it must be some kind of internship, seeing as Beth has seen us in more concerts in more states than any other ApologetiX fan outside of roadies and family members.

our concert coordinators: Kay Boyd Rowe (Brockway) and Harvey Cox (Mexia).

our CD table volunteers: Larry, Krista, and Dan (Brockway) and Kim, Carolyn, LaDonna and Robert.

our chauffeur: Billy (Mexia).

our roadies: Rich, Larry, Greg, and Micah (Brockway).

our opening bands: The Undignified Worship Band and Mutte (Nathan, Fred, Mike, and Chris)

our radio support: WDBA 107.3 (Brockway)
