Can I still order the Christmas CD?
In December 2001, ApologetiX released a six-song Christmas EP on CD called "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas."
The CD was available only to fan club members and featured six songs that had Christmas and the events surrounding Christ's birth as their theme. Two of the songs, "Christmasnite" and "Manger," were previously released on the "Keep the Change" CD.
Another song, "Hotel Can't Afford Ya," was a new improved (totally resung, reperformed and rerecorded) version of the song originally on "Jesus Christ Morningstar," including extra intro and outro lyrics.
Three brand new parodies were introduced on the Christmas CD:
"Micah No. 5" ("Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega)
"Late December 5 or 6 B.C." ("December 1963" by the Four Seasons)
"Santa Claus" ("Panama" by Van Halen)
Those three new parodies and the new version of "Hotel Can't Afford Ya" were all included on "New & Used Hits: The Best of ApologetiX Vol. 1 & 2," released in November 2004. Consequently, the Christmas CD was discontinued.
Since then, we released three more Christmas songs, "Bethlehem's Boy," "Tip from an Angel," and "Try Micah," on our "Future Tense" CD in 2008.
All nine of our Christmas songs, plus three songs by the legendary Christian progressive rock band Ten point Ten (featuring ApologetiX members Bill Hubauer and Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner), are available as a download titled "The 12 Downloads of Christmas."
