Encouraging Prayer Request Update
Sun., Aug. 3. 2008 9:47am EDT
Back in June, we asked you to pray for a 14-year-old friend of J.'s named Evan, an ApologetiX fan with a rare blood condition called TTP, which has caused him to require daily blood transfusions to keep his blood counts up. He had developed a blood infection due to the multiple transfusions and was in the hospital.
We just received a very encouraging update from his aunt:
Evan's blood infection has resolved, and they have managed to wean him from blood transfusions every day. The steroids, which made things worse the last time, actually helped this time. And his blood counts have stabilized. However, he is still going every other day for treatment.
The steroids have given him a rash, and they are going to try to reduce and wean him from the steroids and the blood transfusions. Please pray that his blood counts remain steady.
