New Milestones for APX Drummer
Sun., Jun. 14. 2009 10:47am EDT
Our drummer, Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner, is about to break the record for most concerts by an ApologetiX drummer. Jimmy is scheduled to play his 397th concert with ApologetiX on July 10 in Twin Falls ID, which will eclipse the previous record set by Bill "Moose" Rieger (2001-05). Although we've had quite a few drummers over the years, Jimmy should become the first drummer (and only the fifth band member) to play 400 concerts with ApologetiX on July 17 in Southington CT.
Our July concert in Ogden UT will take Jimmy up to 44 states played with ApologetiX. Only five other members have played more states. The only states he won't have played by then are Hawaii, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming. Moose holds the current states record for a drummer (46), but we're scheduled to play in Vermont in October and there's a chance we'll hit a couple of those other states, so Jimmy feasibly could tie or break that this year, too.
Jimmy played his first concert with the band on October 28, 2005 in Noblesville IN. He will have reached the 400-concert plateau faster than any other band member. It will have taken him just under three years and nine months to do it. He already held the record for fastest to 100, 200, and 300 concerts. Congratulations, Jimmy!
