This Past Weekend in IN & TN
Tue., Sep. 28. 2010 10:39am EDT
Our concerts this past weekend were nearly pedal-powered, as we played near the homes of "pedal to the metal" (Indianapolis) and pedal steel (Nashville), with concerts in Bloomfield IN and Tullahoma TN.
We wouldn't want people to think of us as peddlers, though. As it says in 2 Corinthians 2:17, ""Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God."
Yeah, we'll sure go a long way to make a pun -- over 1400 miles round trip, as a matter of fact. Our bus driver for the weekend, Randy Hyde, went a lot further, though. He made a 4800-mile round trip from Southern California to drive for us, so he traveled a total of 6200 miles on his most recent ApologetiX excursion. And he did it with a broken ankle -- thankfully, not the foot he uses to push the pedals.
But, as Randy taught us this past weekend, cavitation causes a vacuum -- whatever that means. :)
Here are some nice comments we received from our concert promoter in Tullahoma:Everybody that we talked to said they loved the show that you put on, and hope that we do it again. The outdoor concert was awesome, and we had several inquiries about who you were, from people just driving by the church hearing the music.
To sum up their comments, they said that they had not heard " gospel" music performed that way and that they liked it. So that just goes to show what the Apostle Paul meant when he said that he became all things, to all men, to reach them. And that is what your group does so well, reach out to people in a different way. We hope to get to do it again sometime soon.
